Air NZ Cargo – Mobile Phone use and change to PO Box address
Received 31 July, 9.20am Dear Valued Customers, AKL CTO – The use of Mobile Phones and Headphones on site Following a Health & Safety Committee meeting some new restrictions around use of mobile phones and headphones at the AKL CTO have been brought in. These apply to all staff and visitors to the site. Please share this information with any of your staff that may visit the site. The use of all Headphones/Earbuds is prohibited in the Cargo Warehouses and Operational Areas (Cargo yards) Wearing personal headphones in the workplace presents a hazard for personnel operating moving equipment, such as lift trucks. For those working in these high traffic areas of moving equipment, auditory cues can be essential elements of safety. Verbal directions or even orders given during an emergency can be obscured putting yourself and workmates in harm’s way. Phones in the Warehouse – Not to be used in the warehouse (including walkways) unless standing behind barriers or within traffic exclusion zones i.e. Mobile phones zones – If your phone rings you may check who is calling but need to move to a safe zone to respond Phones in Cargo Operational Areas (Cargo yards) – Phone use is restricted to walkways only – In an emergency, exceptions can be made provided it is safe to do so Signage to indicate the location of these safe zones will soon be displayed around the CTO. Change to PO Box account Please update your records for Air NZ Cargo’s PO Box address to PO Box 53098. The old PO Box (53096) is now closed. Mailing Address: PO Box 53098 Auckland Airport Auckland 2150 Please contact me with any questions. Yours sincerely, Steve Townsend Commercial Manager, Cargo Operations Air New Zealand Ltd
